When You'd Rather Buy Than Make the Candle

Not everyone wants to fool with making their own herbal products, and that’s perfectly fine. There are so many wonderful creators offering beautiful, thoughtfully made items that make it easy to bring a little comfort and ritual into your home. I’ve made candles in the past, and while I loved the process, they can be costly and require a lot of trial and error: proper wicks, the right wax blend, scent testing, curing time. These days, I happily rely on other artisans for my candles, including this one created for my Mary’s Garden line.

When you’re choosing a candle someone else has made, a few simple markers of quality make all the difference: look for clean, natural waxes (coconut, soy, or coconut‑apricot blends), cotton or wooden wicks, and candles that are hand‑poured rather than mass‑produced. A good maker will also be transparent about burn time, materials, and whether their fragrances are free of parabens, phthalates, and synthetic dyes.

As for the line I offer, soft, quiet light meets gentle, natural fragrance in these candles. These hand‑poured coconut‑apricot wax candles come in amber or clear reusable glass with a gold lid. They come in a variety of scents from Fraser Fir to the warm, spice‑laced Cinnamon Chai, Mango Coconut, or Vanilla Bean and Lavender. I created artwork that gently frames Mother Mary in a feminine garden of pink roses. Burn one during evening prayers, slow mornings, or whenever you want a familiar, grounding presence in the home. When the candle is finished, you can clean the jar and let it live on as décor or a small storage jar.

There are so many beautiful herbal and botanical products on the market so take advantage of that and if you're not crafty, that's more time to shop and then to enjoy the products!

This candle may be purchased from my shop, Mary's Garden, or in my Etsy shop if you prefer to shop  there. It comes in the two designs pictured, Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
